Necromancer Grimoire by VaporGecko Necromancer Grimoire by VaporGecko
This is the second half of the commission. Again, everything was constructed by hand to build an even thicker grimoire for the commissioner's Necromancer. This is a 5-inch wide book that will hold just about whatever you want. Obvious work went into the skull motifs and I hand-picked a worn and beat 13oz hide to build the book from. The hide took the dye beautifully and wrinkles perfectly ont he belts and the rest.

Construction was similar, but with significantly more appliqué work, and I think the skull motif came out brilliantly. Turn-locks where used for the closers with adjustable belting in the back. another 1 inch belt was used for the shoulder strap, along with a pad and floating dagger sheath to complete the set.

Very well done! :D great job on the skull motifs and the other shapes as well. you've managed to make a simple book not look just cheesy

Thanks for the compliment. I really try to keep my work either minimalistic or classy. It would have been very easy to get very gaudy with instructions like "necromancer's codex with skulls".

You can hit me up on my Etsy page at:

I take commissions and the like, and usually something like this would be up on the site, but I've been too busy outside of non-specific production work to keep up with taking pictures and listing stuff.

Mostly it's just plowing ahead with a bit of inspiration to get yourself going. I've found that the vast majority of quality you can impart on your work is simply through practice and confidence.
